'Stabat mater' with Saless
The new Boulder Chamber Orchestra, under the direction of Bahman Saless, presents the third concert of its inaugural season at 7:30 p.m. Friday at First Baptist Church, 1237 Pine St. The concert, titled "Souvenirs from Italy," features works from the Italian baroque and pre-classical periods. The centerpiece will be Pergolesi's "Stabat mater" with guest soprano soloists Lee Ann Scherlong and Catherine Nix. Also on the program are Albinoni's "Adagio for Organ and Strings" and the "Grand Duo Concertante" for violin and double bass by Bottessini.
